2004 TRD SCION xB
Even when decked out in Camouflage Green, the Scion xB stands out in a crowd and with a host of performance goodies from Toyota Racing Development, Inc. (TRD), it will run away from the crowd too.
The Scion xB quickly attracted the attention of young buyers when it was introduced in California earlier this year and will go on sale nationwide in 2004. Targeted at the growing Gen Y market, the distinctive xB also has attracted the attention of aftermarket suppliers looking to help buyers intent on personalizing their vehicles.
The distinctive "hunkered down" look of a stock xB is accentuated by a set of TRD chrome-silicon lowering springs that are 10 percent stiffer and drop the xB a full inch. Plus-three size 18 x 7.5 inch five-spoke aluminum brushed wheels and Pirelli P Zero 215/35/18 tires add to the look and performance.
Air flow for the 1.5-liter, four cylinder engine with variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i), has been improved coming and going with an AEM cold air intake kit under the hood and TRD's Sport Muffler. The muffler is made of stainless steel and sports a 3.5-inch polished tip etched with the TRD logo. Both are 50 state emissions legal.
The well-equipped interior is personalized with a TRD quick shifter with leather shift knob for the 5-speed manual transmission. Silver sport pedal covers by OBX and are illuminated by a special green interior light kit. A Scion security system provides added protection.
