Scion Night 2004

Scion sales have been ramping up all around the country but local dealer's aren't resting on their laurels. The latest wave of Scion alternative marketing comes to us in the form of ScionNight 2004. Local Scion dealers got together and rented out a local theme park, Six Flags Marine World (*sniff* I remember when it was Marine World Africa USA), and invited all Scion owners to attend.

They came in droves. No official numbers have been published but we counted over 500 Scions in the parking lot. That represented about half of the vehicles that came to the event. Scion Night was opened to two groups of people: Scion owners (and up to 4 guests), and those who had test driven a Scion in August (two tickets per test drive). So while there were quite a few non-Scion owners there, they didn't get to park in the Scion-only parking lot (I can just see one of those novelty plates "Parking for SCION only" hanging up there).

Any car festival has a competition, and so TRD was on hand to view and judge the xAs, xBs, and one tC that entered the auto showoff. There was a wide range of vehicles there, from tricked out $30,000 investments to daily drivers with a couple of upgrades. Live 105 DJ's were on scene to MC the event and trophies were given to the first, second, and third place finishers.

TRD also brought some show vehicles of their own (not eligble for competition!)

Words don't do it justice, so, read on! And congrats to all the winners, see you all next year!
